For Shopify stores that never finished Klaviyo setup

Someone left a cart at your store — and no email came.

That’s the daily reality of an account that was installed and never built out: the welcome series is a draft, the cart flow doesn’t exist, and the channel that should carry a third of your revenue is switched on but empty. FlowLedger inventories all of it — read-only, in writing — and ranks what to build first.

Free 1-page teardown — all five core flows marked present or missing for your store. No card, no call.

About 70% of carts are abandoned (Baymard Institute, 2025). With no cart flow, every one of those shoppers hears nothing — not a weak email, nothing.

Biggest gap: No abandoned-cart email at all. The cart flow is the highest-value core flow in Klaviyo’s benchmark data — and this store doesn’t have one.

Illustrative format only — statuses shown are an example layout, not a real store’s findings. Dollar context in a real teardown uses the store’s own numbers; benchmarks are Klaviyo averages, not a forecast for your store.

$3.65

average revenue per recipient of an abandoned-cart flow — roughly 30× a standard campaign’s. A missing cart flow is usually the single biggest gap in a store’s setup.

70.22%

average documented cart-abandonment rate. Seven in ten carts are left — what happens in the next 48 hours is an email question.

41%

of email revenue comes from automated flows — which are only about 5% of sends. The audit’s whole job is finding the flows that aren’t carrying their share.

59.8%

open rate on post-purchase flows — the highest of any automation. The flows after checkout are the ones customers actually read.

FlowLedger is a new service, and this page won’t pretend otherwise. There are no client results to show — zero audits delivered, zero stores on the retainer, as of October 2026. So the proof here is the work itself: the audit’s seven sections, the scoring rubric, the timelines, and the fences, all published where you can check them before you pay anything.

The problem

“We have Klaviyo” is not the same as having email

It happens the same way everywhere: Klaviyo gets installed during the store build, a popup goes up, maybe a welcome template gets half-written — and then the store launches and the account is never opened again. Nothing breaks. Nothing warns you. The flows that carry the channel simply aren’t there.

Meanwhile the benchmarks don’t wait. The average abandoned-cart flow earns $3.65 per recipient (Klaviyo, 143,000+ flows) — your store’s version of that flow earns zero, not because it performs badly, but because it was never built. The welcome series that should greet every new subscriber is a draft. The winback doesn’t exist to win anyone back.

Missing flows don’t underperform. They pay nothing, forever, until someone builds them — in the right order.

  • 4 of 5core flows missing in the sample teardown above — the format example. Whether your store’s page looks like that is precisely what the free teardown answers.
  • $3.65average revenue per recipient of the cart flow you don’t have (Klaviyo benchmark data) — the gap the audit sizes with your store’s own numbers.
  • 1 pageis all the free teardown is — and it’s enough to show you every missing flow by name before you spend anything.
  • 90 daysof sequenced build-out in the audit’s roadmap — cart first, in the order the benchmark value says to build.

What the alternatives actually cost

An audit is a commodity until you read what the price buys. These are the published shapes of the same purchase, priced out beside FlowLedger’s.

Modeled from published rates — see the footnote for basis and dates
RoutePublished priceWhat the price buys
Agency “free audit” $0, then a $3,000+ project The audit is a lead-in: a sales call, then a project quote. You keep a pitch, not a roadmap you can hand to anyone.
Freelancer audit (Upwork) $95–$495 one-time Scope and depth vary by freelancer. The comparable product — account + deliverability audit, flow-gap analysis, 90-day roadmap — is a $495 Top Rated listing.
Freelancer retainer $500–$3,000/mo Ongoing email help at published freelancer rates. Worth it when it ships; the category’s churn problem is retainers that quietly become monitoring.
FlowLedger Audit $500 one-time · FlowKeeper $500/mo A written, read-only audit with a 90-day roadmap you keep either way — no sales call — and a retainer that has to ship one visible improvement a month or you cancel it.

Modeled, October 2026: Upwork audit listings $95–$495 and the $495 Top Rated comparable from FlowLedger’s market research; freelancer retainers $500–$3,000/mo per the Constant Contact pricing guide (September 2026); agency audits are typically free lead-ins to projects of $3,000+. Market anchors, not quotes — any provider’s current price is theirs to state.

How it works

From “installed” to inventoried, in four steps

You don’t need to know what’s in your Klaviyo account to start. Finding out is the first step, and it’s free.

  1. 1

    Request the free teardown

Email us your store URL. The reply is one page: all five core flows marked present or missing for your store, the biggest gap named in one sentence. For a store that never finished setup, that page is usually the first complete picture anyone has made of its email. Cost: nothing. Effort: one email.

  2. 2

See the whole shape of what’s missing

Missing flows fail silently — no error, no warning, just revenue the channel was supposed to produce. The teardown’s benchmark context shows what the absent flows are typically worth against your numbers, so “we never set it up” becomes a ranked list instead of a vague worry.

  3. 3

    Order the audit — $500

Pay by Stripe, then add us as a read-only Klaviyo user. The audit inventories everything — including the parts of the account you forgot exist: the half-built popup, the draft welcome, the segments from a promotion two years ago.

  4. 4

    Report in 5 business days

A PDF report + 5-minute Loom walkthrough: what’s missing, what it’s worth, and a 90-day roadmap that sequences the build-out — cart flow first, if your store is like most. Build it yourself, hand it to a freelancer, or have FlowKeeper ship one piece a month.

The audit

Seven sections. Every one in every report.

The Flow Audit is a fixed product with a fixed scope — the same seven-section read whether your store does $100K or $1M. Here is the whole of it, before you pay:

  • 2 · Flow coverage check — first, for youWelcome, cart, browse, post-purchase, winback: present, missing, or present-but-never-live. For a store that never finished setup, this section is the audit’s core — the complete inventory of what was never built.
  • 3 · Revenue-gap analysisThe missing flows ranked by revenue per recipient against Klaviyo benchmarks, the gap expressed in dollars from your store’s own traffic and sales. It turns “we should really set up email” into a number you can decide on. Context — never a guarantee.
  • 1 · Account health snapshotList size, engagement trend, segment count against your revenue band’s benchmark, list-growth velocity — including what’s been quietly accumulating in an account nobody has opened in months.
  • 5 · Signup-capture checkPopup present? Offer? Timing? SMS capture? Mobile? Footer fallback? A store that never finished setup usually leaks at the door as well as after the cart.
  • 4 · Deliverability checkSPF / DKIM / DMARC authentication, sending-domain alignment, one-click unsubscribe, complaint rate, suppression hygiene — checked now, before your first real flows send, which is the cheapest moment to fix them.
  • 6 · Prioritized fix listBuild order by effort against impact, the highest-leverage flow named first, each fix drafted as an outline — trigger, timing, segment, subject-line direction — ready to build or hand off.
  • 7 · 90-day roadmapThe full build-out sequenced across 90 days at a pace a small team can actually run — what goes live first, what waits, and what to measure when it does.

The same seven sections as every FlowLedger audit — reordered the way a never-built account needs them, coverage first. FlowKeeper ($500/mo, cancel anytime) can then build the roadmap one improvement a month — terms at pricing — or check the checkable details first.

What we never do

  • Never take write access. Read-only, always — we cannot send, edit, or change a setting in your account.
  • Never ask for your account login or password. Access is a view-only role you grant and revoke.
  • Never guarantee revenue, deliverability, or inbox placement. Anyone who does is selling you the guarantee, not the work.
  • Never sell “monitoring” alone. The retainer ships one visible improvement a month — that is the product.
  • Never keep or reuse your data. Access is revoked at engagement end; one store’s data is never used for another.
  • Never a sales call. Every step — teardown, audit, retainer — runs async, in writing.

These are product rules, not disclaimers: they are printed here, in the evaluator’s section below, and in the services agreement you sign before any access is granted.

For the skeptic

The checkable details

Everything a careful buyer verifies before paying for an audit — exact deliverables, the access model, the timelines, the limits, and who stands behind it. If a line here doesn’t match what you were told anywhere else, this page is the one that’s wrong and we’ll fix it.

What you receive

  • The Flow Audit (paid)PDF report covering all seven sections + a 5-minute Loom walkthrough + one round of follow-up questions by email, answered within 7 days.
  • The free micro-teardownOne page: the five core flows marked present or missing for your store, the single biggest gap in one sentence, and the benchmark context for it — labeled as Klaviyo averages, not a forecast.
  • FlowKeeper (retainer)One shipped improvement a month, a monthly flow-performance one-pager, a deliverability watch, and one campaign QA a month.

Method & access

  • Read-only Klaviyo roleYou add us as a Klaviyo user with an analyst / restricted role — view analytics, flows, lists and segments. We cannot send, edit flows, or manage settings.
  • Shopify only if neededMost audits run on Klaviyo data alone. If Shopify is needed, it is a reports-only collaborator account — never your login, never your password.
  • Assisted analysis, human-checkedThe audit skeleton is Muse-assisted for consistency; every report passes a human reconciliation check before it is delivered. That is disclosed here because it is true of every report.
  • Benchmarks from a fixed tableKlaviyo 2026 and 2025 benchmarks and Baymard 2025, cited in the report’s appendix with source and year. Dollar gaps use your store’s own numbers.

Timelines

  • Audit report: 5 business daysCounted from payment and read-only access being live. If access isn’t granted within 7 days, the clock pauses — access is the client’s step, not a delay we bill around.
  • Follow-up questions: 7 daysOne round, by email, included in the audit price.
  • Deliverability alerts: within 24 hoursOn FlowKeeper, if authentication fails or the complaint rate breaks its threshold, you hear about it within a day — not in next month’s report.
  • Retainer rhythm: monthlyMetrics pulled in the first days of the month; the shipped improvement and the one-pager follow inside the same month.

Limits, stated plainly

  • Fix outlines are direction, not creativeThe audit drafts the fix: trigger logic, timing, segment, subject-line direction. Finished email creative is retainer work or a build project — that boundary is deliberate.
  • Only what the data showsThe report reads the account you grant. If a flow or campaign isn’t in the data, it isn’t in the report — nothing is reconstructed or guessed.
  • The score is a diagnosticYour Flow Health Score (out of 12, six categories scored 0–2) is a way to see the account plainly. It is never tied to a promised outcome.
  • Benchmarks are contextA gap against a Klaviyo average says where to look first. It is not a forecast of what fixing it will earn — outcomes depend on implementation and your market.

What FlowLedger is not

FlowLedger is not a full-service email agency. It does not run your campaign calendar, write finished creative, or send anything from your account — ever. It is not your bookkeeper, your ads manager, or a deliverability guarantee. It is one thing: a read-only audit practice that finds what your email engine is missing, broken, or leaving unmeasured, and writes down what to fix first.

Who stands behind it

Ruben Olaverria, operating as Chitico HQ (Chicago, IL), is the accountable operator — the audits are his work, the reports carry his name, and the working email is chiticohq+flowledger@zohomail.com. Payments are processed by Stripe; FlowLedger never sees your card number. A one-page services agreement — what is accessed, for how long, revocation at engagement end, no reuse of your data — is signed before any access is granted.

Pricing

Two prices. Both on the page.

The total price is published here, before any form — the price on this page is the price at checkout. No trials, no launch discounts, no “book a call for pricing.”

Ongoing

FlowKeeper

$500 /month

Light management for stores that want the roadmap shipped for them.

  • One shipped improvement a month — your choice from the roadmap
  • Monthly flow-performance review: what moved, what changed, what’s next
  • Deliverability watch — alert within 24 hours if a threshold breaks
  • One campaign QA a month, checked before you send
  • Month-to-month. Cancel anytime, by email — no contracts, no retention call
Start FlowKeeper — $500/mo

For a store starting from zero flows, the audit is the map and the teardown is the first mile of it — FlowKeeper is offered on the report’s final page for stores that want the build-out shipped for them. Payments are processed by Stripe — we never see your card number. The audit’s roadmap is yours to keep whether or not FlowKeeper ever starts; the retainer is pitched once, on the report’s final page, and never chased.

Terms, in plain words

How access, exit, and honesty work

Access

Read-only, granted by you, revocable by you. You add a view-only Klaviyo role; you can remove it from your own settings at any moment, and removal ends our access instantly. At engagement end we confirm revocation. We never hold your login, and no store’s data is retained or reused after its engagement closes.

Exit

FlowKeeper is month-to-month; cancel by email to chiticohq+flowledger@zohomail.com. No contract, no cancellation fee, no retention call — the month you’ve paid for is worked, and then it stops. The audit is a one-time purchase: the report and roadmap are yours permanently, whoever implements them.

What the price buys — and doesn’t

The price buys the work and the measurement: a complete read of the account, gaps ranked against cited benchmarks, fixes drafted, a 90-day order to fix them in. It does not buy a revenue result. Benchmarks are context for your numbers, never a forecast — and no page, report, or email from FlowLedger will ever phrase them as one.

Recommendations stay clean

Every recommendation is CAN-SPAM-clean by construction: accurate headers, honest subject lines, working opt-outs, a physical address. Compliance is checked as part of the audit because the exposure for getting it wrong is real — it is a feature of the product, not a footnote.

Questions

Asked by store owners, answered plainly

I installed Klaviyo and never finished setting it up. Is this actually for me?

Yes — it is the exact account the coverage check was built for. Installed-but-unused is the commonest state of a small store’s Klaviyo: a popup maybe, a template welcome email maybe, and the flows that carry the channel’s revenue simply absent. The audit doesn’t grade you on it; it inventories it, ranks what to build first, and writes the order down.

I don’t even know which flows I have. Where do I start?

With the free teardown. It marks all five core flows — welcome, cart, browse, post-purchase, winback — present or missing for your store, on one page, and names the single biggest gap. No card, no call. The teardown will show whether your welcome series exists only as a draft and whether your cart flow exists at all.

Is the free teardown really free? What’s the catch?

It’s free, one page, and hand-prepared — the catch is only that it’s the first section of a paid product, shown working. You keep the page either way. If you never buy the audit, you still know which flows you’re missing and which one matters most; that’s a deliberate design choice, not an oversight.

My store is small. Is a $500 audit worth it yet?

Honest answer: start with the free teardown and read its dollar context. The audit’s gap math uses your store’s numbers — if your volume makes the gaps small in dollars, the full report will show exactly that, and the teardown alone may be all you need this quarter. The audit earns its price when there’s enough traffic running through the missing flows for the ranking to matter.

Do I need to be on Shopify? And what do you need from me?

Yes — the audit is built for Shopify stores running Klaviyo; that pairing is the whole product. From you: one email for the teardown, and for the audit, a view-only Klaviyo user added to your account. Never your login, never write access, never a call.

What if a flow exists but it’s a draft, or sends to nobody?

Then the coverage check marks it the third way: live-but-broken — or in your case, present-but-never-live. Drafts that never activated, flows with no trigger, templates from the day the account opened: they’re counted as gaps with a note, because from your customer’s side of the screen, they are.

Find out which flows you’re missing. It’s free.

The teardown marks all five core flows for your store and names the biggest gap. Twenty minutes of our work, one page of yours to read — and the first complete picture of your email account anyone has made.
